The Absolute Reticulocyte Count (ARC) is the estimated number of reticulocytes present in a specific volume of blood. Reticulocytes are immature red blood cells released from the bone marrow into circulation. When reticulocyte percentage is reported as a percentage and RBC count is reported in million/µL, the formula calculates the absolute reticulocyte count in cells/µL. The result can also be expressed in the SI unit × 10⁹/L.

How to Calculate Absolute Reticulocyte Count
